Oil Based Pencil Portrait
I spend hours to perfect every oil based pencil drawing. Every stroke is carefully drawn to capture every detail of the subject. I spend a lot of time to capture the likeness of the animal. It is very important to supply me with the best quality and resolution photo you can. The better the quality of the photo, the more detail I am able to add to the final artwork.
I work in Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils. Faber-Castell is the world’s oldest pencil manufacturer located in Germany, and these are my favourite pencils. The name POLYCHROMOS®, meaning “many colours” in Greek and these are of highest artist quality with light-fast pigments. Today’s pencils have come a long way compared to the pencils I used when I was young. These are oil based and includes the same quality pigments as in artists oil paint, and under the proper conditions the colours will last 100+ years.
I work on Schoellerhammer Smooth natural cream white acid free paper. It is excellent for precise drawings and illustrations.
If you need help trying to choose an appropriate photo, please upload a few and I will communicate with you to advise of the best option before I start your portrait.
